Click on the Recycle Graphic above to check whether your Printer can be refilled. This company supplies Toner Refill kits all across the world. They probably supply one for your printer, not keen on their web site but these guys live and breathe toner cartridges so they can tell you which can be refilled.
Although they supply US and Canada it's not really worth it outside Europe - let me know if you know a good company for there!

RSPB Letter to the Future

Do you ever feel that your government is really just paying lip service to environmental issues?  I often think this, there are so many meetings, so many words spoken but often little real proof that the environment is more than another election promise.

In the UK , our Government promote themselves as green then equally sponsor and push huge expansions in airports and seem to spend more time talking than doing.   To support financial institutions we can spend billions but isn’t the environmental crisis just as urgent ??

Anyway I am a member of the RSPB – Royal Society for the Protection Birds, and they are quite effective political lobbyists.   They are trying to get a petition signed by as many people as possible to help nature get a voice in political decisions.  This is not just about birds, this is about nature, the environment and the planet we live on.

So it doesn’t matter where you live, please read the letter and if you agree, please add your support to the petition.  If we can get hundreds of thousands of names across the world signing this it will be a powerful voice for the environment.

How often can I refill my Toner Cartridge

HP-Laser-cartridgeWell to be honest this is quite a tricky question.  Although most toner cartridges can be refilled and reused several times, they obviously won’t go on forever.  Eventually the parts will begin to fail, but before you get carried away imagining printer damage the truth is when it’s time to replace the cartridge you’ll see on the printed page.

When a new Toner Cartridge is Required

Your printouts will tell you when a toner cartridge should be recycled and not refilled.  You will begin to see dots, spots or blank areas on your pages these will normally be repeated several times on the page, your cartridge is beginning to fail.  A razor sharp pencil line on the page is also an indication that a cartridge has reached the end of it’s life.

When you start seeing such signs and the print quality falling it’s time to get a new cartridge and start again.  remember to recover as much toner as possible from the cartridge first.   You could believe that it’s a bit of a bind having to keep your eye on the print quality, but in reality most people already do this anyway.    Don’t make a big deal about this, just watch the pages for quality and when they start to get worse get a new cartridge with luck you’ve probably refilled  few times and probably saved hundreds of dollars already !!

Don’t be tempted to overdo using the cartridge, the quality should be identical in a refill, so when it isn’t just get a new cartridge, it’s not worth waiting for the quality to get worse and worse, you’ve already saved loads of money and made an environmental difference.

Count those savings and buy yourself a brand new cartridge, you’ll already have the refill toner to get some serious value out of the new cartridges!

Hp Toner Cartirdges

Contrary to popular belief, toner cartridges actually play a very important role in the performance of your printer. For starters, your HP printer needs a specific type/model of toner in order to operate efficiently. Over the life of the equipment, the cost of toner needed to operate a machine can be many times the cost of the equipment itself. So before purchasing your next toner cartridge, make sure you’re familiar with some basic terminology and the various options available to you.

Generally speaking, HP laser printers are recognized for their superior quality and reliable, high-speed operation. Designed specifically for their genuine LaserJet printers, HP toner cartridges deliver brilliant, cost-effective results every time you print. More importantly, buyers are protected with the Hewlett Packard Premium Protection Warranty, which guarantees the product is free from defects in both workmanship and materials.

While monochrome devices only print in black text, most laser printers use a toner cartridge that consists of four different colors. HP’s new color printers make it easy for small businesses to produce professional-quality color documents from the comfort of their own office.

Types of Cartridges

Customers also have the choice between OEM cartridges, remanufactured cartridges, and compatible cartridges. Original equipment manufacturer cartridges (abbreviated as OEM) are made by HP themselves, which means that have the highest quality, present the fewest problems, and come fully guaranteed. As a result, they’re usually more expensive than other types of toner, such as remanufactured or compatible.

Remanufactured HP cartridges cost much less than OEM cartridges because the components are typically recycled. Premium quality cartridges should include a new drum, wiper blade, doctor blade, and magnetic roller sleeve on every cycle. The remanufacturing process is an extremely thorough procedure involving each of the following steps: disassembling, cleaning, refilling toner, replacing appropriate components, print testing, and repackaging. If any of these steps are neglected, the cartridge will suffer in terms of quality, performance, and reliability.

Last but not least, compatible HP toner cartridges are made by third-party manufacturers with the use of brand new OEM parts. They’re a great alternative to OEM cartridges because they’re designed to meet the same standards and they’re available at a cheaper price.

Recently, HP implemented a cartridge return and recycling program that offers customers free and convenient return options. Because all returned cartridges are recycled through HP’s state-of-the-art processes, customers can be confident their print cartridges are recycled responsibly and diverted from landfills.

General Information & Additional Tips

The latest HP toner cartridges are designed with Smart technology that makes ordering, installation and maintenance even easier.

At first, toner cost may seem high, but so is the yield. Check a toner cartridge’s rated output against its price to determine per-page printing costs. Remember, the most common standards used in the laser printing industry for determining average page yields are based on “5% page coverage.”

Plan ahead: Order your next cartridge before it runs out. That way, your work won’t be disrupted due to an inoperative printer.

Also, you can make your purchase last longer by monitoring and limiting your use of toner. For example, use simple printing functions including spell check and print preview to check for any errors.

HP focuses on simplifying technology experiences for all of its customers—from individual users to the largest corporations. With a portfolio that spans printing, software, personal computing, services and IT infrastructure, HP is among the world’s industry leaders. So if you need a reliable, affordable and worthwhile solution to your high printing demands, HP toner cartridges are your best choice. Visit Superwarehouse.com for great deals on all HP cartridges.

Use Matches instead of lighters
Lighters are usually considered disposable so they will most likely end up in land fills. You can use the cardboard matches which are much more eco-friendly because they are made of recycled material.
