It's fairly easy to do for the 1400W but you do need to replace the chip on the side (it looks like just a couple of screws - the replacement chip is about $12 which bumps the price up a little) But after that you just need to replace the ink and seal the unit again. Make sure you get compatible toner and use one of the many kits available to refill the toner cartridge.
